350 Super Modifieds Visit the Family Fun Track!

Hudson, NH

After mother nature took the day a week ago; we were treated to a sunny and warm day for racing action. 14 350 Super Modifieds rolled into the pits looking to do battle. The Little Webb 350 Super Modifieds would be joined by the Northeast Auto Imports Late Models, Black Flagged Podcast Ridge Runners, Granite State Gun Range Six Shooters, and MLM Diagnostic Pure Stocks.

The MLM Diagnostic Pure Stocks were added to the racing program mid week to make up for the missed raced last Sunday. Zach Zilinski (7z) making his first visit of the season picked up the heat race win. Zilinski and Chris Davis (16) would lead the field to the green with Davis jumping out to the lead at the drop of the green. The race would be slowed by 3 cautions but Davis held off all challenges to capture his second MLM Diagnostic Pure Stock victory at Hudson this season. Colton Martin (4) finished 2nd and Zilinski held on for 3rd.

Next up was the Black Flagged Podcast Ridge Runners with Joseph Fraser (37J) taking the heat race win in convincing fashion. Fraser would be joined on the front row for the feature by Heath DeButts (76). Fraser jumped out to the lead and went for a Sunday drive as he nearly lapped the entire field on his way to victory lane as they would go green to checker! DeButts finished 2nd and Tyler Johns (32) finished 3rd.

With 14 cars of their own the Northeast Auto Imports Late Models rolled onto the track. Milton Duran (08) captured the win in heat race number one, while Andrew Morin (30) took the win in heat race number two! Duran and Morin would lead the field to the green flag with Duran taking the holeshot. Duran would be followed closely by Justin Beecher (57) and Kris Schroeder (66K), as they would break away from the rest of the field. Duran, Beecher, and Schroeder could be covered by a blanket for numerous laps. Beecher would use the high side on lap 17 to take the lead. On lap 23 Schroeder would do a little bump and run move to be able to dive under Duran for 2nd place; Duran would try a crossover move making contacting sending both cars sideways but both drivers allowed each other to correct it and keep going. Beecher would take the win followed by Schroeder for 2nd and Duran 3rd .

The headliner for the day’s event, the Little Webb 350 Super Modifieds, took to the track next. Time trials were the means for qualifying for the Little Webb 350 Super Modifieds. Jeffery Battle (14) set himself at the top of the charts with a time of 12.049, but with a 6 car invert we would see Jim Storace (47) and Ryan Battle (21) made up the front row. Ryan Battle took the lead on the initial start leading the first 2 circuits before Storace would power back to the lead. They would settle in setting a blistering pace until lap 20 when Mike Netishen (55) would enter the equation making the pass for the 2nd spot. Netishen would set his sights on Storace and would use a slingshot pass on lap 35 to take the top spot. Lap 37 would slow the feature with the first caution of the race as the 70 of Rusty Poland would come to rest on the outside wall of turns 1 and 2. Netishen would motor away from the field on the restart as he took down the win in the 40 lap main event. Storace finished 2nd and Bobby Timmons III (13) used a late race pass to finish 3rd.

The final feature of the day would be the Granite State Gun Range Six Shooters who joined the schedule after missing a race due to weather the prior week. The 68 of “The Space Cowboy” Steve Miller Sr. took the heat race victory though he was followed close by Michael Yeaton (25NH). Miller Sr. and Yeaton would make up the front row for the feature. Miller Sr. shot out to the lead like a rocket taking off for the moon at the drop of the green. “The Gangster of Love” Steve Miller Jr. (79) would use a lap 5 pass to take the 2nd spot from Yeaton. Miller Jr. would get close the rear bumper of his father’s car but would have nothing for him as Miller Sr. road the momentum to victory lane. Miller Jr. finished 2nd followed by Yeaton in 3rd.

The Hudson Speedway is back in action on Father’s Day, June 17 th . With racing scheduled to start at 1:05PM with the NHSTRA Modifieds, Northeast Auto Imports Late Models, Granite State Gun Range Six Shooters, MLM Diagnostic Pure Stocks, and NEMA Lites. No better way to say Happy Father’s Day then a day at the Family Fun Track!
