Hudson Speedway Opens 2025 Season with Fallen Members Day Tribute and Thrilling Racing

Hudson, NH — May 12, 2025
Hudson Speedway roared back to life on Sunday afternoon with Fallen Members Day, the traditional season opener honoring members of the racing community who are no longer with us. Drivers and fans alike packed the grounds for a heartfelt day of remembrance and an action-packed night of racing, featuring all five house divisions and the season debut of the New England Dwarf Car Series.

The Super Streets headliner delivered a hometown win for Charles Baldwin (Hudson, NH), who held off pole-sitter Justin Beecher (Billerica, MA) to take the first checkered flag of the season. Corey Fanning (Mapleville, RI) completed the podium in third, while Chuck Dehney (Pelham, NH) and Charlie Guardino (Wantagh, NY) rounded out the top five. Beecher kicked off the afternoon strong by winning Heat 1, while Baldwin thrilled the local fans by charging from fifth to first in Heat 2.

In the Ridge Runners, it was all Drew Morse (Limington, ME), who swept both his heat and the 20-lap feature in convincing fashion. Brian Caswell (Buxton, ME) and Peter Fraser (Nottingham, NH) kept him honest, finishing second and third respectively. George Perreault (Woodstock, CT) crossed in fourth, while Stone Slattery (Pelham, NH) settled for fifth after fading late.

The Six Shooters saw a dominant outing from Michael Yeaton (Amherst, NH), who picked up right where he left off last season by winning both his heat and the 20-lap feature. Steve Miller Jr. (Grantham, NH) chased him across the line in second, with Bradey Lamotte (Hartland, VT) finishing third. Veteran Michael Casey (Pittsfield, NH) and Steve Miller (Grantham, NH) rounded out the top five.

A competitive Pure Stocks field brought plenty of action. Adrian Smith (Unity, NH) capitalized on a strong heat win to claim the 20-lap feature. Jason Townsend (Nashua, NH) impressed with a runner-up finish after moving through the field, while Noah McGrath (Sanford, ME) stormed from sixth to third. Mackenzie Belisle (Londonderry, NH) and Shayla Kirk (Pepperell, MA) closed out the top five. Local standout Chris Quin (Hudson, NH) made the night’s biggest charge, climbing eight spots to finish sixth.

The Thunder Lights put on a show for the youngest division at Hudson. Patrick Russell (Dracut, MA) swept both the heat and the 12-lap feature to start his season with a perfect day. Hudson locals Emily McInnis and Sophia Charbonnier-Marshall rounded out the podium.

The visiting New England Dwarf Car Series highlighted the evening with the Thanks Mom 25, a special Mother’s Day tribute event. Andrew Harmon (Rochester, NH) scored the feature win, holding off Ronnie Carman (Derry, NH) and a hard-charging Miller Buzzell (East Baldwin, ME), who climbed four spots to claim third. Chris Sullivan (Barrington, NH) and Tom Harwood (Derry, NH) completed the top five after a competitive outing.

Heat race victories went to Bob Poloski (Springfield, MA) and Tom Harwood (Derry, NH).
