Joey Polewarczyk Jr. Claims Gate City Classic 100 at Hudson Speedway

Hudson, NH — June 30, 2025

The Granite State Pro Stock Series rolled into Hudson Speedway Sunday for the prestigious Gate City Classic 100, and the fans were treated to a thrilling battle that saw Hudson native Joey “Pole” Polewarczyk Jr. fend off some of New England’s best to take the checkered flag in front of his hometown crowd. Starting from the outside pole, Polewarczyk Jr. (Hudson, NH) methodically worked his way to the front, pacing himself through long green flag runs before taking command in the closing laps. He held off Joseph Doiron (Berwick, ME), who had led from the pole and kept pressure on the leader until the checkers.

Former 250 champion Eddie MacDonald (Rowley, MA) powered through the field from ninth to round out the podium in third. Evan Beaulieu (Durham, ME) and Cole Robie (Windham, ME), who gained an impressive 10 positions, completed the top five. Further back, drivers like Cory Casagrande (Stafford Springs, CT) and Angelo Belsito (Auburn, MA) battled hard inside the top ten, while Frankie Eldredge (Portsmouth, NH) impressed with a charge from 17th to eighth.

The 100-lap feature delivered everything the fans expected from one of the region’s most competitive touring series—tight battles, comers and goers, and a local star standing tall in victory lane.

Joseph Fraser (Nottingham, NH) earned another feature win, holding off Stone Slattery (Pelham, NH) and Brian Caswell (Buxton, ME) in the 25-lap main. Slattery took the heat race before Fraser bounced back in the feature to secure the double.

The Six Shooters produced another classic duel between Michael Yeaton (Amherst, NH) and Michael Casey (Pittsfield, NH). Yeaton came out on top in the 20-lap feature, with Casey second and Scotty Blanchard (Rockport, MA) third. Casey took the heat race earlier in the night, but Yeaton’s feature win added to his dominant season tally.

The Pure Stocks saw Jason Townsend (Nashua, NH) park it in victory lane after a strong run from the pole. Adrian Smith (Unity, NH) finished second, while Chris Quin (Hudson, NH) completed the podium in third. Heat race wins went to Townsend and Smith, making the feature a true clash of the division’s top contenders.

Hudson’s youngest racers once again put on a show, with Quinton Perkins (Nashua, NH) sweeping both the heat and feature over Emily McInnis (Hudson, NH) and Sophia Charbonnier-Marshall (Hudson, NH).

With a packed house, the Gate City Classic 100 lived up to its billing as one of Hudson Speedway’s crown jewels. A hometown hero returned to victory lane, weekly warriors delivered in support action, and fans were treated to a full night of hard-nosed short track racing.
