Back to School Kids Night Thrills Packed Hudson Crowd
Hudson, NH – August 18, 2025
Hudson Speedway roared to life on Sunday evening for its annual Back to School Kids Night, featuring backpack giveaways, on-track meet and greets, and a full card of short track racing. Fans packed the grandstands, and the drivers delivered with intense battles across every division.
The Super Streets once again brought the action with a 25-lap feature. Charles Baldwin (Hudson, NH) continued his stellar summer by charging from seventh to victory lane. Baldwin outdueled Corey Fanning (Mapleville, RI), who matched Baldwin’s +6 performance but settled for the runner-up spot. Austin Flanagan (Warwick, RI) crossed the line third, while Chip Laquire (Franklin, NH) and John Sousa (Westford, MA) rounded out the top five. Heat race wins went to Cole Littlewood (Orange, MA) and Baldwin.
The Ridge Runners ran a caution-free 25-lap feature where Brian Caswell (Buxton, ME) led wire-to-wire for the win. Stone Slattery (Pelham, NH) kept him honest but came home second, with Trystin Bodwell (Sanford, ME) third and Teagan Edson (Ashburnham, MA) fourth. Caswell also swept the heat race, making it a perfect night for the No. 47.
The Six Shooters put on one of the most talked-about races of the night. On track, it was Michael Yeaton (Pelham, NH) who crossed the line first, but the feature belonged to Michael Casey (Pittsfield, NH). After 20 laps of hard racing, post-race tech sealed the deal: Casey’s No. 57 was declared the winner, marking his first career feature victory. Mike Comtois (Pelham, NH) finished second, followed by Raven Streeter (Canaan, NH) in third.
In Pure Stocks, Shayla Kirk (Pepperell, MA) shined brightest, taking down the 20-lap feature win over a strong field. Adrian Smith (Unity, NH) rallied from 12th to finish second in a stellar drive. Carter Conroy (Newport, NH) claimed third, with Chris Quin (Hudson, NH) and Mikayla Duval (Orange, MA) completing the top five.
The Thunder Lights gave fans another show of the future stars of the sport. Patrick Russell (Dracut, MA) once again showcased his consistency, picking up the feature win. Sophia Charbonnier-Marshall (Hudson, NH) came home second, ahead of Emily McInnis (Hudson, NH) and Quinton Perkins (Nashua, NH). Russell also grabbed the heat race victory, making it a clean sweep.
The always exciting New England Dwarf Cars returned for Twin 25 Crazy Cone Features. In the opener, Andrew Harmon (Rochester, NH) held off Tom Harwood (Derry, NH) for the win, with Chris Sullivan (Barrington, NH) third.
In the second feature, it was Harwood’s turn to shine, taking the checkered over Cody Hodgdon (Pittsfield, NH) and Harmon. The heat races went to Harmon and Harwood, setting the tone for a thrilling night of cone-style chaos.
